This four-song EP pairs the dulcet-voiced second banana from Belle and Sebastian with Lanegan, the gruff singer of Screaming Trees fame. Offering a taste of their shadowy upcoming full-length CD, Ramblin' mixes Tom Waits-y art-blues (on the title track), a classic cover ("St. James Infirmary") and a minimalist showcase for Campbell's elastic murmuring ("Revolver Pt. 2") with a touching acoustic ditty ("[Do You Wanna] Come Walk With Me") whose idea of a sweet nothing is "There's a crimson bird flyin' when I go down on you."
