The set is more aligned with the barroom bard's work as the
leader of cult favorite American Music Club than
his more polished efforts on his usual label, Warner
Bros. Much of Caught In A Trap sees Eitzel
turning singer/songwriter clichTs on their heads armed with just
his guitar and aching voice, but he's helped on several key cuts by
Sonic Youth drummer Steve Shelley, Yo La
Tengo bassist James McNew and former
Bad Seed guitarist Kid Congo
Powers.
