THis album is a grower. It takes about fivelistens to get into but when you do you cant sotp lsitening. Mariahs voice is not in good shpae in this album. Its like she is not singing at all, nore talking. THe only two songs that are crap are love story and rthanks for nothing. However this album is jsut as samey and unoriginal as emancipation of mimi. In the future mariah should break the mold and do something different. It is liek she has not evolved since Fantasy. Its time for change!

Mariah Carey tenth studio album turn out to be good but has some flaws. In this album she bring us little bit of reggae, disco and gospel.
The Tracks
Migrate is a very up-tempo club song with a nice hook. The beat could have been better, I expect more from Danja. 7/10
Touch My Body is a fresh and fun track with it good beat and nice chorus. I wish her vocals were not played with that way it could have been better. 8/10
Cruise Control is a reggae influenced track with a bad beat and Mariah could have done much better with this. 6/10
I Stay In Love is a wonderful ballad and her real voice is there. And in the chorus you hear her heartbroken voice. 10/10
Side Effects has a heavy hip hop beat and the lyrics are deep. A good track overall. 8/10
I'm That Chick a good up-tempo yet smooth disco track. It samples Michael Jackson's Off The Wall. 8.5/10
Love Story is a not so great ballad. Her vocals were great but I wish she put more effort to it.
6/10
I'll Be Loving You Long Time is a catchy and fun mid-tempo track, but nothing special or anything. 7/10
Last Kiss is a dull and a mess. Her vocal were not show cased well. Pretty bad. 3/10
Thanx 4 Nothin' is another short and simple ballad with nothing to offer. 3/10
O.O.C is a catchy tune but unoriginal. Mariah is better than this track. It has a good beat and nice hooks. 5/10
For The Record is another boring track with bad music. I really had my hopes up for this one. 4/10
Bye Bye is well produced and Mariah finally does it on this album. It is pretty good. The best track on the album 10/10
I Wish You Well is a classic Mariah Carey gospel song. Good track. 8/10

Mariah's new album E=MC2, the long awaited sequel to 2005's 'The Emancipation Of Mimi', falls just short of creative. To be honest, the new album is discumbobulated and all over the place, not only musically but lyrically. Granted, their are some great tracks on the album, including 'Side Effects', which shows Mariah in a somewhat darker light than previously seen by her. Featuring Young Jeezy, the track pretty much is an attack on ex-husband Tommy Mattola, and the track is produced in a ferocity with which we haven't heard from Mariah before. And 'Cruise Control' featuring Damien Marley is a decent foray into reggae-hip-hop. But for the most part, Mariah repeats her Emancipation album in every way. 'I Stay In Love', 'Last Kiss', and 'Love Story' all sound like repeats of 2005's 'We Belong Together', and the track 'Bye Bye' is her most emotionally hokey and cheesy as 1993's 'Hero'. There is no cohesion from track to track, and the 2nd half of the disc stays almost placid and boring. Emotionally, she is allover the place. From song 1 to 14, she goes from club-banger, to mid-tempo sex siren, to reggae, to down tempo and sappy, then back up to angry, then to disco-diva, to schmultzy, to motown, to cheesy, to slow angsty hip-pop, to romantic, to cliche, and comes out religious at the end. With the exception of 'Side Effects', 'For The Record', and 'I Wish You Well', Mariah shows almost no emotion in her voice. Granted, the album is fun to listen to in the car, but if you're looking for something new from Mimi, you're not going to find it here.

Mimi's new album isn't her best. She was in her glory days in the 90s, and this is a clone of her 2005 album. Her voice isn't explored as it was before, and she lets out a screeching screech on the opening track. Stand-outs are "Migrate," "Touch My Body," "Sife Effects" and "O.O.C."

YES..... SHE'S BACK."TOUCH MY BODY" IS A LOT OF FUN AND THE MARIAH WE ALL KNOW AND LOVE. "MIGRATE" IS JUST COOL,BUT COULD HAVE DONE WITHOUT THE CAMEO BY T-PAIN. DA BRAT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO LISTEN TO HERE, BUT SHE IS INSTEAD RELEGATED TO AN OUTTAKE CALLED "4REAL4REAL", WHICH IS JUST AWFUL AND MARIAH'S WORST COMPOSITION. THE MAJORITY OF THIS ALBUM IS SASSY R'N'B WITH ALMOST A GOSPEL FEEL. BUT THE SURPRISE,AND THE ONE THAT TOUCHED ME WITH IT'S TRUE BEAUTY IS THE MAJESTIC AND WONDERFUL "SIDE EFFECTS". THIS IS A PURE PIECE OF JOY THAT I LIKED. ALL TOGETHER A NOTABLE EFFORT THAT TRIES A LITTLE TOO HARD TO BE TO SOULFUL BUT AFTER A FEW LISTENS GELS TOGETHER.

Well, one thing is for sure, Mimi is back. The album is very good (not great though). It is full of potential hits. The thing with this album is you have Mariah Carey (i.e. I stay In Love, Love Story, I'm That Chick, Last Kiss, For the Record, Bye Bye). And then you got Mimi (i.e. Migrate, TMB, Cruise Control, Thanx 4 Nothin, Side Effects, O.O.C.) You continuaslly bounce from the club to the tear- jerking ballads, she's not sure where to go.The final track 'I Wish You Well' dosent seem to fit with the rest. And man, do they really dowplay the Voice that got her so big in the first place. But the album grows heavily on you, once you start, good luck stoping. I personally enjoy the album, why the negativity? Im just trying to give you a reliable review. But you can definatly count on Mimi to be here a very long, long time, she aint going anywhere soon. Xcept for the top of the charts. Go buy the album, you would regret it or waste your money... Many ear-worms for ya :)

Absolutely outstanding!!!
She delivered very well. I was nervous at first when i listened to Touch My Body because i thought it wasn't a really good 1st single, but then it grew on me.
I won't be surprised if she has more #1s because this album is full of potential singles.
I recommend
Cruise Control
Love Story
For The Record
I'm That Chick
Bye Bye
O.O.C.
Side Effects
Thanx 4 Nothin'
those are the best.
at least 3 of those after Bye Bye, will be singles..
:D

This CD is a dissapointment. It's just all sorts of awkward. And this is somebody who, with Mariah, "go back like babies and pacifiers." And it's a shame because for the first time in what may be ever, Mariah Carey, with her appearance on tonight's episode of American Idol, came off as someone who is relatable, knows what's up, and is far from girlishly aloof. And many of the performances, particularly those by Kristy Lee Cook, David Cook, and Jason Castro showed just how majestic and vast her back catalogue is.
But the future?
Yeah...
...I don't know dawg.
I have never been on Team "damn, Mariah done gone hip-hop. I sho' do wish she would act like she could sing and stop whispering". No. But this whole album seems a bit, off. Few things gel, MC sounds tired in parts, and often, it seems, surrounded by "yes" producers and songwriters who drown her in tiresome, easy route taking lyrics and production. Don't get me wrong, it has a few high points, but even when Mariah Carey fans thought she was at the height of her "damn Mariah done gone Hip-Hop" phase, it didn't seem as lazy and uninspired. [I swear I heard I Stay in Love on Janet's Discipline disc.] Cause let's be real, this album ain't that much better than [or as good as] Rainbow, Charmbracelet, or Glitter.
