Riding high on the success of their hit single, "Sex and Candy," Marcy Playground kicked off a two-month North American tour last Friday.|

The tour began at Milestone's in Rochester, N.Y. The band cruises down the Eastern Seaboard hitting venues in cities like Providence, R.I., Charlottesville, Va., and Atlanta. From there, they swing through the South to Texas and then west to California and up into Vancouver. Following their stint on the West Coast, Marcy Playground will visit seven cities in the Midwest before calling it quits on Mar. 22 at Tramps in New York.

The band has held the No. 1 position on Billboard's "Modern Rock Tracks" chart for the last five weeks, according to a spokeswoman for the magazine. Their self-titled debut album has shipped nearly half a million records since it was released in February of last year.
