Album Reviews
The slow, lucent majesty of the Duluth, Minnesota, trio Low was in place from day one: They taped the first two tracks in this box set, demos of "Lullabye" and "Cut," at home in 1993 on the very night that they made their live debut, in Duluth. The next decade goes by with the same stateliness. The Pink Floyd and Spacemen 3 covers are no surprise, but Low's tender gravity in Bob Dylan's "Blowin' in the Wind" and the high mass they make of "Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me" will come as a sweet shock.
