Live lit the flame on their MCA/Universal Branch Promo Tour last night with an industry-only listening party gig at New York's Torch. Two-hundred fortunate souls saw the group play a five-song acoustic set featuring four tunes from the forthcoming The Distance to Here (due Oct. 5) and "I Alone" from Throwing Copper.|

Live will play a free concert in Montreal on Saturday (Aug. 21) before continuing their not-for-the-general-public mini-tour with stops in Chicago, Minneapolis, San Francisco and Los Angeles. The group will launch a two-month long U.S. tour for paying customers beginning Sept. 30 in Columbia, S.C.

In other Live-related news, the group just finished shooting a video for Here's first single, "The Dolphin's Cry," with director Martin Weisz.
