Lisa Marie Steps Out

Presley set to release debut in April

Lisa Marie Presley will release her debut album, To Whom It May Concern, on April 8th on Capitol Records. Presley worked with a variety of people on the album including former Smashing Pumpkin, current Zwan frontman, Billy Corgan, who collaborated with Presley on the song "Savior."

"He was so hard core with me," Presley said of Corgan, who is a longtime friend. "He's good at dark. This is dark, but the two of us combined -- it had to be taken up a bit so it would not make you want to kill yourself if you heard it."

Presley also worked with her first husband, songwriter Danny Keough, who she credits as getting her started as a songwriter. Eric Rosse, who produced Tori Amos' first two albums, serves as the primary producer for the album, while Andy Slater, who has produced for Fiona Apple, the Wallflowers and Macy Gray, produced the track "Lights Out," on which Presley refers to her famous lineage.

"I never wanted to write a song about anything indicating my genetic code whatsoever, or my background," Presley said. "But if I had to do it, then 'Lights Out' would be that song. It's kind of a darker, odd take on it."

Despite the collaborations, Presley insists that the record is truly her own. "This record is me," she says. "Every song is me. You're going to see who I really am and not what the tabloids say or whatever anyone has to say about me."
