Album Reviews
"I wanna come first," coos the breakout tabloid star of 2004 three minutes into her debut LP. With that as a launching point, Speak shuffles between drab adult pop and rock-disco mush befitting Lohan's party-girl-next-door image. Lohan can work up a nice throaty wail, but in the end Speak isn't more than a mannered cash-in; did it really take seven songwriters and four producers to make one lousy track ("Disconnected")?
