Lil' Kim has lent her voice to Those Who Walk in Darkness, an animated sci-fi film, due on DVD/VHS on June 3rd . . . Boston's Virgin Megastore will host a Madonna look-alike contest on April 21st at midnight, to celebrate the release of her American Life the next day . . . 'N Sync's JC Chasez, Ashanti, Ja Rule, Bowling for Soup, Wayne Wonder and others will perform at Z100's annual Zootopia concert on June 1st at Giant's Stadium in New Jersey . . . The Roots will open for the Dave Matthews Band from July 26th through August 2nd . . . Fiona Apple is at work on her third album, due this fall . . . Therapy? will release their ninth album, High Anxiety, on May 20th . . .

The String Cheese Incident are working on their next studio album with producer Youth (Crowded House), due in the fall . . . Classical pianist Christopher O'riley will release True Love Waits, an album of Radiohead covers, on June 10th . . . Aretha Franklin will begin her "Aretha Sings Her Musical History Tour" on June 1st in Toronto. The soul legend has said that the tour will be her last . . . A new Grateful Dead DVD, View From the Vault, which captures two 1987 concerts in California, will be released later this month . . . Blackstreet will give a free performance for U.S. troops at Fort Lee in Virginia on April 19th . . . Hootie and the Blowfish donated $66,000 to a South Carolina education program that provides adults with computer skills and helps children learn to read . . . Noel Fox, who sang bass for the Oak Ridge Boys from the late Sixties until 1972, died in Nashville last week after suffering a series of strokes; he was sixty-three . . . Drummer Jeremiah Green has left Modest Mouse after ten years with the band. He plans to spend more time with his pop side project, the Vells . . .
