K's Choice has been tapped to headline the second stage of this year's Lilith Fair.|

A source close to the band told JAMTV that the Belgian-based alterna-rockers would close out the festival's second stage starting in mid-June. While on tour with Lilith, K's Choice will be performing songs off their forthcoming album, Cocoon Crash (550 Music).

For Cocoon Crash, K's Choice teamed up with producer Gil Norton (Foo Fighters, Counting Crows, the Pixies). The entire album was recorded at ICP Studios in Brussels, and according to the band, the match with Norton made the album as solid as it could be.

"I think everything sounds so much better than before, and that's exactly what Gil came in to do," said lead singer Sarah Bettens. "We were just trying to get the best thing possible for the songs. I'm so happy we chose him because it turned out amazingly for us."

Bettens' brother and partner in K's Choice, Gert Bettens, expanded on his sister's comments: "We have this really heavy element going on with the dark lyrics, but at the same time there's this lightness to a lot of the songs. That's what life probably is ... light and heavy at the same time."

Look for Cocoon Crash to hit stores May 12. Other than Lilith Fair, K's Choice plan to spend the majority of 1998 on the road in the States and Europe. (Ari Bendersky)
