Kool Keith, who just released his latest album, First Come, First Served as Dr. Dooom and is about to drop Black Elvis (Lost In Space) on Columbia/ Ruffhouse, has inked a deal to distribute music from his label, Funky Ass Records, as MP3s at www.emusic.com.| In a recent interview, the man known as Dr. Octagon told Platform Network, "I'm here to save rap music. I mean, I think there's no creativity goin' on right now. I think everybody's doing the same thing, and without me, hip-hop would have no entertainment ... Everybody has the same images and, musically, everybody's either doing old funk or just sampling a lot of old records. It's getting monotonous ..." On May 17, Emusic will make the Erotic Man (AKA Sex Style) and First Come, First Served albums available for download. The Rhythm X and Joel Kleinberg, Emusic's director of artists and labels, also plan to release 12" tracks like "Get Off My Elevator" and "Prepared," as well as other music by Funky Ass artists such as Mind Space. - Werner
