Teenage Blues Guru Back In Studio

(NEW YORK) - Kenny Wayne Shepherd is back in the studio. The 19-year-old guitar wizard-whose 1996 debut album, Ledbetter Heights (Revolution), was certified gold and spent five months on Billboard's Top Blues Albums chart-is aided this time around by two key players. The upcoming album, not yet titled and tentatively scheduled for a fall release, is produced by former Talking Heads member Jerry Harrison, and features lead vocals by former Uncle Six front man Noah Hunt. Harrison, who recently finished producing Big Head Todd & the Monsters, equates Shepherd's new album to "great English bands like Cream" that tried to "revolutionize the blues." By all accounts, the new set is a creative leap beyond Ledbetter Heights.
