Rappers Receive Support

The Rap Coalition asks for your support of Keith Murray and Little Shawn

Posted Jan 04, 1999 12:00 AM

Wendy Day's Rap Coalition is offering its love and support to two incarcerated rappers, and looking for you to do the same.| Keith Murray was recently convicted and sentenced to a year and a half in Connecticut for assaulting a minor with a bar stool and Lil' Shawn is serving 70 months federal time in Virgina for, well...we don't know. And neither does Wendy Day (I asked). But the point is -- they're rappers; their crimes and victims are irrelevant, and the Rap Coalition is asking you, the fans, to send mail in support of these artists who are "out of circulation" and "feeling forgotten." You can E-mail your words of unconditional support to to RapHipHop@aol.com (be sure to specify which artist you're addressing in the subject area). Or, if you're feeling especially generous (and forgiving), the Coalition asks that you send books or magazines for either of them, addressed to:
Wendy Day,
Rap Coalition
67 Vestry Street, #2D
New York, NY 10013
c/o Keith or Shawn

And if you actually want contribute real money directly into their commissary accounts, you should go right ahead and call Wendy Day directly at (212) 625-3422. - Werner
