Album Reviews

On their first album in eight years, these How High stars seem every bit the pleasure-seekers they used to be. With mostly unknown producers delivering unfussy synth beats, the pair turn in catchy party joints and weed-loving jams like "Dis Iz 4 All My Smokers," where Redman assures you "we can puff till our voice get lower than Tone-Loc." The rappers run short of good ideas and drop some head-scratching disses — Method Man's "If you dress in a metrosexual way, then, motherfucker, you gay" kinda makes you glad he got shot in the last episode of The Wire — but it sounds as if their rhyme skills have held up decently well in the face of copious blunt smoking.
