Remember the golden days of radio, back in the summer of 2002? Do you miss the era when every hit followed the exact same formula, featuring a thug rapper who needs a lady and an R&B-hook girl chanting about how she can't wait to grease him? If so, you will be stoked Ashanti has a new record out. Ashanti fit the anonymous hook-girl role because she sounded eager to warble any dumb jingle Fat Joe or Ja Rule told her to sing, sticking her with painful lines such as "I want Don Joey Crack on top of me." But on Concrete Rose, she still can't project any personality of her own. Her voice is too plain to redeem such weak material. A Ja Rule reunion called "Turn It Up"? Down, please.

Ashanti Came back after a lack luster full of fillers Chapter II. This is album may be her best one as confessed in the intro, but its missing something..
-Still Down ft. T.I., which he maybe should have been left out but overall the lyrics are excellent, and so are the vocals. 4/5
-Message to the fans, another one of ashanti's skits but it was a good one I guess you can say. 4/5
-Only U, the first single was pretty evident why. It see's something different for Ashanti, perhaps her rocl side.4/5
-Focus, Is a cacthy break up song that will have you saying "Im focused now". Im wondering why this rumored 2nd single wasen't released as one. 4.5/5
-Don't Let Them, the 2nd singles that flopped actually isn't to bad. Its one of the standouts of the album. 5/5
-Love Again, The song was going good until she mentioned "Where you put your hands in certain places, I can't help but make those silly faces."?????.2/5
-Take Me 2night Ft.Lloyd, A ballad about 2 in a relationship, perhaps PT.II of "SouthSide".3/5
-U, Maybe her standout vocally. It's a nice song about how she needs someone bad!. 3.5/5
-Every Lil' Thing, Once again another catchy song that will have you singing it. 4/5
-Turn It Up Ft. Ja Rule, A club joint that displays Ashanti's journey to, and in the club.3/5
-Buck 3000 (skit)-Totally unecessary!! 1/5
-So Hot, an okay ballad about how Ashanti feels about that person in her relationship. 3/5
-Don't Leave Me Alone Ft.7 Aurelius, Ahhh finally that perfect song. Ashanti's lyrics, vocals, and concept is on point. Best song on the album.5/5
-Sister Stories ft. Shi Shi, Displays Ashanti, and her sisters vocal, which aren't to bad but could of been left out! 3/5
-Freedom, another standout about Ashanti "Freeing" herself from all the hatred, and things she's faced in the music industry. 5/5
**Bonus- Wonderful (remix)- Could have been left off just features one new verse from her, everything else is this same. 3.5/5

Overall the album is good, just needs alittle work.

Best/Standout songs:
#1 Don't Leave Me Alone
#2 Freedom
#3 Focus
#4 Every Lil' Thing
#5 Only U
