Jane Siberry Tour Supporting Xmas CD

Posted Dec 03, 1997 12:00 AM

Jane Siberry kicked off a 16-date tour on Tuesday in support of her new double Christmas LP, Child.|

Child was recorded during a series of Christmas shows that Siberry played at New York's Bottom Line Club in 1996. The shows featured a collaboration between Siberry and a host of artists calling themselves the 12 Musicians Of Christmas, including Frank London (Klezmatics) and Gail Ann Dorsey, who has played bass with David Bowie.

This album is the first in a three-part series that Siberry will release; Lips and Tree are scheduled to come out in the second quarter of 1998. All three CDs were recorded at the Bottom Line last year.

If you can't catch Siberry on tour, tune in to her performance on "Sessions at West 54th," due to air on your local PBS station on Dec. 27.

For more information, head over to Siberry's official website at www.sheeba.ca. While you're there, check out her Internet-only release, "Day In The Life." (Ari Bendersky)
