Jamiroquai Benefit Show Date Change

Posted Nov 04, 1997 12:00 AM

The Dec. 4 date for the previously announced Jamiroquai benefit show in London has been changed to Dec. 14, according to the band's official U.K. website.|

All tickets purchased in advance will be valid for the new date. Proceeds from the event will aid two charities: Tusk Force and the Marcia Lawes Campaign, causes the band have taken special interest in.

Tusk Force, a U.K.-based charity, funds the protection for several endangered species throughout the world. Marcia Lawes was raped and murdered by Delroy Denton, a former Jamaican informant for the Scotland Yard. The Campaign is currently raising money for Lawes' children and fighting to ensure proper legal action is taken against Denton.

The show takes place in a newly developed auditorium on the grounds of the Battersea Power Station. It was originally built for the Midland '97 Festival. (Lana Fanelli)
