Jamiroqaui Walks Away Big Winner From Billboard MVAs

(LOS ANGELES) - Work Group/Epic act Jamiroquai picked up a hatful of trophies Saturday night during the 19th annual Billboard Music Video Awards at Billboard Live in West Hollywood, Calif.|

The act's clip for "Virtual Insanity" won the Maximum Vision award and earned best director honors for Jonathan Glazer. It also captured the best clip honor in the alternative/modern rock field.

The night's other big winner was Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott, whose Goldmine/EastWest/EEG video for "The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)" took honors for best clip and best new-artist clip in the rap category.

Other award winners were chosen in a vote by music video professionals. Other winning artists: Erykah Badu, the Notorious B.I.G., Will Smith, No Doubt, Fiona Apple, DC Talk, Smalltown Poets, Tony Bennett, Jewel, Marilyn Manson, Talk Show, Wyclef Jean, Robyn, Tim McGraw with Faith Hill, BR5-49 and Smash Mouth. The awards show, which was sponsored by College Television Network, was webcast for the first time by JAMTV and Billboard Online.
