I caught this electro-jazz big band, also from Norway, on the same weekend in Denmark -- and was equally blown away. Imagine drum-and-bass music played by a band with real bass, a ferocious drummer, a corps of horns (including a tuba) and a gift for wrapping tricky rhythms in stately melody. This EP, Jaga Jazzist's U.S. debut, combines earlier album tracks with a pair of remixes. And it will make you
want to see them live.
