Album Reviews
Jadakiss raps with a slight rasp and a perpetually arched eyebrow. He's a master of the fine lyrical detail, and he knows it. On his second solo album, he crows, "When I work the chrome, the funeral home/
Gonna double they money this year/Off of my work alone." He's probably more impressed with the rhyme than with the rhyme's boast. When he's undone, it's by tinkertoy production on tracks such as the insipid Mariah Carey vehicle "U Make Me Wanna." Mostly, though, he's impervious, bringing the same clinical precision to crime sagas ("Air It Out") and pickup lines ("Hot Sauce to Go," featuring Pharrell) alike. "Fuck riding the beat, nigga," he brags on "Time's Up, "I parallel-park on the track."
