Sing-a-Longs & Lullabies For The Film Curious George
2006
Not one to strain himself, but underrated in his own polite way, Jack Johnson keeps his regular-dude croon friendly and extra-bright on this tidy, quietly pretty soundtrack to the new kids' film. Johnson's tunes are long on the usual daydreamy ponderousness, but they also give it up in their own polite way -- the acoustic grooves are polished and hooky, the cover of the White Stripes' "We're Going to Be Friends" is almost as cute as the original, and cuts like the Paul Simon-in-Maui "People Watching" make good use of Johnson's big bag of easy melodies.
