(NEW YORK) - Indigo Girls launch their second Honor the Earth Tour Sept. 7 at the St. Regis Mohawk Community at Akwesasne, located near Syracuse, N.Y. The outing, which aims to raise awareness and funds to oppose nuclear waste storage on Native American lands, will wrap Oct. 2 at the University of Montana at Missoula. Last year's Honor tour collected over $300,000, which was distributed among 41 grass-roots environmental organizations.

In related news, Bonnie Raitt, Indigo Girls, and John Trudell will participate in a No Nukes benefit concert slated for Sept. 24 at the Warner Theater in Washington, D.C. Proceeds will go to the Nuclear Information and Resource Service, an information and networking center for grass-roots anti-nuclear and safe-energy organizations. The acts reunite Sept. 30 for another benefit show in Las Vegas.
