Album Reviews
On their sixth album, a decade after Hootiemania gripped the nation, Darius Rucker and company are still playing middle-of-the-road pop songs about girls and good times. The only nod to the present is a couple of songs that reference Bush's fuckup in Iraq. "You can try and be a hero/ But people keep dying every day," Rucker sings on "State Your Peace." None of the tracks are particularly amazing, but they're definitely good enough to rile up the drunken crowd at a USC bar.
