Album Reviews
This indie-rock collective from Leeds, England, has experimented with everything from fuzzy pop to pastoral electronica to hip-hop. Here they limit the electronics to a glitchy underpinning for deliciously dreamy guitars. The warm strumming and sparse beats make for an aching melancholy that stirs memories of Radiohead. The standout track, "Any Hopeful Thoughts Arrive," builds to an orchestral grandeur from a few guitar notes: atmospheric digitalia with a sublime, jagged melody.
