On this day in 1981, singer/songwriter Harry Chapin was killed in New York, aged 38. Bestknown for his 1974 hit 'W.O.L.D.', Chapin was killed in a bizarre accidentwhere a tractor ran into his car on a freeway. An autopsy revealed thatChapin had suffered a heart attack, although it was not able to determinewhether it was a result or cause of the collision.
