Her anthem "redneck Woman," with its big "Hell, yeah!" established
her character, and the rest of her debut fulfills its promise and
features some amazing singing: The gospelized "Chariot" is a tour
de force, right down to its rap. Beneath her holler, though,
there's a darkly adult perspective on romance and domesticity.
