Sense Field and Five for Fighting to split opening duties

Posted Apr 22, 2002 12:00 AM

The Goo Goo Dolls have confirmed a month's worth of dates in support of their new album, Gutterflower, which debuted last week at Number Four on the nation's albums chart. The outing will kick off in Houston on May 23rd, and is now scheduled to conclude June 25th, but more dates may be added.

"I don't write a lot of fiction," Goo Goo Dolls frontman Johnny Rzeznik told Rolling Stone of the songs on Gutterflower, the band's seventh studio release and the follow-up to 1998's multi-platinum Dizzy Up the Girl. "I put my ass on the line, but that's good. That's what you're supposed to do."

Emo rockers Sense Field will open dates through June 4th; Five for Fighting take over the opening slot after that.
