(NEW YORK) - The Goo Goo Dolls, their label,
Metal Blade and Warner Bros.,
which distributed the act's last album, A Boy Named Goo,
are close to settling the lawsuits they filed against one another
last year, sources say. The result will have the Goo Goo Dolls
signed directly to Warner Bros. Records, with a new album out in
late 1997 or early 1998. The group filed a breach-of-contract suit
against Metal Blade last November charging nonpayment of royalties.
Subsequently, Metal Blade and Warner Bros. filed suits against the
band (Billboard, Dec. 14, 1996). Metal Blade CEO
Brian Slagel could not be reached for comment.
