Filter Singer Enters Rehab

Band cancels tour as singer recovers

Posted Oct 02, 2002 12:00 AM

Filter singer Richard Patrick checked into a rehab center earlier this week, forcing the band to cancel their headlining dates on the Rellim Tour -- which is Miller spelled backwards. The shows were sponsored by the Miller beer company and featured California band Trapt as the opening act.

As yet there are no plans to reschedule the dates in support of Filter's recently released album, The Amalgamut. "I want to apologize to all my friends and fans for having to cancel these upcoming shows, but right now I'm concerned about my health and want to get back into the best physical and mental condition to go back on the road next year," Patrick said.

The tour was scheduled to kick off on tonight in Minneapolis and run through October 19th, wrapping up in Miami.
