Eighties pop star Falco was killed in a car crash on Friday while on vacation in the Dominican Republic.|

The singer, best known for the hits "Rock Me Amadeus" and "Der Kommissar," was hit by a bus after he pulled out onto a highway in the sports utility vehicle he was driving near the resort of Puerto Plata. Falco, born Johann Holzel in 1957 in Austria, suffered severe head injuries and died at a local hospital, according to the Associated Press.
