Fabolous Dreams Up New Record

Rapper to release follow-up to platinum debut in December

Fabolous will drop his latest platter, Street Dreams, on December 3rd. "I called the album Street Dreams because the aspect of hip-hop now, this is what the young kids want to do," says Fabolous. "Like maybe in the Sixties and Seventies they wanted to become a pimp or a mack and the street dreams in the Eighties they wanted to be some kind of player or a huge drug dealer. In the Nineties it switched over to an athlete or a ballplayer and now it's like I'm doing a street dream. Rap is a thing a lot of young kids want to do."

Fabolous's voice and face first surfaced in the single and video of Lil' Mo's "Superwoman Pt. II," and the platinum debut Ghetto Fabolous established the rapper in his own right. The new album includes a shuffled version of "Trade It All," which first surfaced on his debut. "They changed the beat a little bit, made it faster, more partying and we added P. Diddy," says Fabolous. "He's real cool. He likes to do things in a very perfect way and make it sound good and make it a good look for everybody. It's good to work with somebody who also feels the way I do, I like a good sound and a good look and that's what it came out being."

Fabolous will tour into November as part of the Nellyville package outing, which also features Big Tymers, Lil' Wayne and Amerie. Additional dates are expected.
