Everclear to Take "Movies" on the Road

Art Alexakis and Co. find 2001 to be a good time for a tour

Everclear have plotted an initial string of tour dates for their latest album, the second half of their Songs From an American Movie duology, Good Time for a Bad Attitude. Art Alexakis and Co. chose not to mount a major headlining tour behind the release of Songs From an American Movie Vol. 1.

Alexakis told RollingStone.com in July (when Songs Vol. 1 was released) that the band was hoping to spend less time touring. "We don't have to go out and play six shows a week anymore," he said. "It's not a question of whether it's hard or not -- it's just that I refuse to."

The tour is scheduled to commence in Rochester, N.Y., on Feb. 1. Eleven shows have been announced thus far, eight of which will be in Canada.

Everclear tour dates:

2/1: Rochester, NY, University of Rochester
2/2: Montreal, QUE, Metropolis
2/3: Ottawa, ONT, Congress Center
2/4: Toronto, ONT, Warehouse
2/6: Marquette, MI, Northern Michigan University
2/7: St. Cloud, MAN, Halenbeck Hall
2/9: Winnipeg, MAN, Walker Theater
2/10: Regina, SAK, Doris Knight Hall
2/11: Calgary, ALB, Max Bell Center
2/12: Edmonton, ALB, Shaw Conference Center
2/15: Vancouver, BC, Commodore Ballroom
