Elephant Man is the most exciting, idiosyncratic vocalist in dancehall reggae today -- imagine a Jamaican Ol' Dirty Bastard, minus the legal troubles. Dubbed the "Energy God," he's not scared of gimmicks if they move the crowd. On his outstanding third album, he dodges a comical femme stalker on "Run for Your Life," turns R. Kelly's maudlin "The World's Greatest" into an ominous promise of violence ("Bad Man a Bad Man") and, appropriately, exhorts the listener to "get crunk all day." The least you can do is keep up with him.
