Here's a quick Elastica update: The band is currently in the studio recording a follow-up to their 1995 self-titled debut, according to Alan James P.R., the band's U.K. publicist.|

At the time of its release, Elastica was the fastest selling debut album in the U.K. Now, the band is in London working with producer Bruce Lampcov to put out their second album, which should prove to be as big as the first. The songs are expected to be mixed in January and, according to Jim Merliss at Geffen Records, the album should be out sometime in April.

In related news, the word is that Elastica lead singer Justine Frischmann and longtime boyfriend, Blur frontman Damon Albarn, are setting to get hitched. (Ari Bendersky)
