Album Reviews
Sounding more like a mix tape from an incredibly pop-savvy pal than a WB soundtrack, Gilmore Girls impulsively mixes genres, time periods and moods. Combining made-to-order music (Sam Phillips, Carole King), thrift-store treasures (Claudine Longet, the Free Design) and alt-rock eccentricities (Joey Ramone, XTC), this inspired collection embraces whimsy and conveys wonderment.
