DJ Sammy's global reputation is predicated upon one heavy helping of pop synchronicity: His Euro-dance remake of Bryan Adams' 1984 sapfest "Heaven" scored huge across cheese-friendly Europe and even cracked the upper register of the usually dance-averse pop charts here. Alas, one hit single of synth fusillades and workout-ready, semimelodic chants is refreshing; an entire album of them wears dangerously thin. Sammy may have one more hit in his crate, though; through his hyperspeed lens, Don Henley's "The Boys of Summer" ("I can see you/Your brown skin shining in the sun") becomes an ode to lissome Ibiza dance gods.
