Album Reviews
Arizona-born Dierks Bentley is one of country's most rock-oriented young stars. He's also a ramblin' man who likes album titles such as Modern Day Drifter (2005). Feel That Fire has its fun moments — namely "I Can't Forget Her," a sulfurous piece of Tex-Mex schmaltz, complete with Spanish-guitar noodling and lyrics about seƱoritas, tequila and the Rio Grande. But Bentley — a plain vocalist — needs great tunes to hold your interest, and his songwriting slips here. Skip to the soaring title track, with its love story about a woman who likes to "drive around in my truck with no place to go" — a girl after Bentley's heart.
