Album Reviews
On her first new album since 1999, an oddly subdued Ross tackles a
random assortment of love songs, ranging from the Drifters' "This Magic
Moment" to the Beatles' "I Will" to Heatwave's "Always and Forever." Since
there doesn't seem to have been much thought behind this disc other
than cashing in on the film release of Dreamgirls, maybe a few diva
tantrums would have helped matters. Several songs click: Berlin's "Take
My Breath Away" turns out to be a perfect match with Ross' chilly sex
appeal.
