Tom Moon has a personal gripe and a large twig up his ass. The Blue Album is an absolutely brilliant album by one of the most underrated singers of our time. Ms. Ross' vocal performance on this long shelved Motown release is simply breathtaking, she sings behind the beat in a way similar to Billie Holliday, but she doesn't simply mimic her. When I heard the version of "My Man" from this album, I knew it was going to be a classic release, and I wasn't wrong. Every song is top knotch, the orchestration is tasteful and very suited to the time period in which it was recorded, and the sound quality is excellent. I am not even a fan of Diana Ross' music, but the greatness of this album cannot be denied. Don't listen to this lame ass review, buy the record you will not be disappointed. To the editors of Rolling Stone: please re-review this album, you owe it to Diana Ross and your readers to correct a blatantly wrongheaded assesment.

Diana Ross is in superb voice on this dynamite "long-lost"
collection. To each his own, but I hardly agree with the Rolling
Stone review of these impeccably arranged and beautifully
rendered classics. Here's hoping "Blue" will finally get Ms. Ross
the Grammy she so richly deserves!

Superb! There are not many who are better than Diana Ross when the material is suited to her voice. There are better voices/singers, but Diana's timing is impeccable; and as Luther Vandross used to say: singing is not always about a big voice; it's about "tone"!
Ms Ross deserves to be recognized for her work! 18 number one records is amazing!
