Delbert McClinton's roots have been showing since before you were born -- hell, he's the guy who taught John Lennon to play harmonica -- yet he has rarely sounded as comfortable as he does here. The only trouble he has on Room to Breathe is the stuff he sings about -- as on the moving "Don't Want to Love You" and "Lone Star Blues," which features Emmylou Harris, Steve Earle and Jimmie Dale Gilmore.
