Deftones, Thrice Give a Taste

Atreyu, Silverstein and others also join second winter tour

After making a successful debut last winter, the Taste of Chaos tour returns with another slew of aggressive young rockers, including the Deftones, Thrice and Atreyu. The second installment of the emo/punk jaunt will kick off on February 16th in San Diego.

Look for Sacramento hard-rockers the Deftones to possibly road-test some material off their latest effort, in the works for more than a year with legendary The Wall producer Bob Ezrin. "Pink Floyd is one of my all-time favorite groups," drummer Abe Cunningham told Rolling Stone early last year. "We just needed to change things up. And this is definitely a different style."

Story of the Year, Funeral For a Friend, Thursday, Silverstein, Street Drum Corps and As I Lay Dying will also take the Chaos stage. The trek -- made possible by Kevin Lyman, the organizer of Vans Warped Tour -- will hit thirty-plus cities across the country before heading north to Canada for nine more dates. Tickets are now available at tasteofchaos.com.

In addition, the winter cousin of the Warped Tour has already spawned a live DVD, a soundtrack featuring last year's lineup -- including the Used, Killswitch Engage, A Static Lullaby and Senses Fail. Artists from last year's trek also recently released the compilation Taste of Christmas for the holiday season.
