Crowded House: "Don't Dream It's Over" [Listen]
"I hear this wherever I go," says Mustaine of the melancholy love song off the Aussie band's 1986 debut. "I could be having the absolute worst time, but I hear this and it brightens my day."

Mike and the Mechanics: "The Living Years"
The Genesis guitarist's 1989 choir-powered chart-topper brings Mustaine joy. "It was playing in the limousine after I got married," he says. "It reminds me of that wonderful day."

The Beatles: "I Want You (She's So Heavy)"
Abbey Road's darkest cut turned him on to heavy guitar riffs as a kid: "It sums up everything the Beatles mean to me."

Led Zeppelin: "The Song Remains the Same"
The frontman picked up some tips from Zep's Houses of the Holy headbanger: "The British Invasion has been very informative in my approach to guitar."

AC/DC: "Let There Be Rock"
He scored the 1977 classic at a record-store swap. "As soon as the needle hit the record," he says, "I thought my life had changed forever."
