Album Reviews
The late Danny Gatton could play anything on his Telecaster: blues, rockabilly, bebop, TV themes. He did it all with swing, and I always saw him do it best with his big band Funhouse. This live memento from 1988 is a lot like the shows I saw at the time: top-shelf repertoire, hot brass charts, Gatton's stinging solos. Except I never saw him swap licks with pedal steel king Buddy Emmons, who sits in here with equal flair.
