These five ladies -- Aubrey, Aundrea, Dawn, Shannon and D. Woods -- are the latest alumnae of MTV's Making the Band. With producers like Timbaland (does this man ever pass on a gig?), Rodney Jerkins and Jim Jonson, Danity Kane are positioned to inherit the legacy of O-Town. "Show Stopper" is already one cool radio hit -- every summer needs an R&B anthem about driving around and looking good and feeling mean. Over silky strings, the ladies chant, "Yeah, we're divas, but we ride like big boys do." Ride on, Danity Kane.

I Give this album 3.5/5.
It's pretty good. Has some decent tracks. It's something new.

One Shot 6/10 A very bad opener. It doesnt have anything special. The chorus is dull however it has a good beat.

Heartbreaker 8/10 Nice uptempo song with spanish guitar and a big hip hop beat. Very catchy.

Want It 7/10 Timbaland produced this catchy and fun song. It's nicely done.

Right Now 5/10 A mid-tempo song with a bad and stange beat. I skip this one.

Showstopper 8/10 This is an up-tempo and fun song to drive. It has a club beat.

Hold Me Down 7.5/10 This song is very fast paced and their voices are amazing in this. The beat could have been better.

Ooh Aah 4.5/10 Very mellow song. It's just a filler. Pretty boring.

Press Pause 5/10 A little bit better then OOh Ahh but still.

Ride For You 8/10 This is an amazing R&B ballad. Pretty solid.

Touching My Body 6/10 a hip hop/dance song very fun but nothing special or wows you.

Back Up 5.5/10 Loud and pretty noisy. It works for a party.

Stay With Me 7/10 This slow paino inspired ballade. Pretty calm. It is excelent work.

The hidden track Sleep On It is boring.

DIDDY!!!! DIDDY!!!! DIDDY!!!! He did an incredible job with the girls. Not only did he come through on his word to make the girls superstars, but he made them #1 superstars as well. This album is dance from its beginning until its very end. Highlighting such hott tracks as "Want It" and "Sleep On It" and going to meaningful dance ballads such as "Right Now" or maybe "Press Pause". D. Woods, Aubrey, Aundrea, Dawn and Shannon have really made their mark in the music world and we all can't wait to see what's next.

The CD is crazy! The songs are hot and right on time for the Fall clubbing season. There are 15 tracks (normally you get about 10) and they all highlight each of the girl's strengths. I'm impressed and even more surprised that you all don't like the able. Maybe you picked up Paris Hilton by mistake.

Wow, the other reviews of Danity Kane were harsh. I disagree. The girls from Making the Band 3 have put forth a decent album. I think they are more under the scope because of the show, but there music is likable, dancable, singable. It's good.

Okay, I've always thought Rob Sheffield's reviews were absolutely ridiculous, but this is a new low. I have almost lost all respect for Rolling Stone. Any educated musician (or even an educated *person*, in general) can tell that this is yet another ridiculous attempt of Diddy's to capitalize on young America's obsession with attractive girls making music (or at least something that barely resembles it). The thing people need to understand is that Sean Combs is bent on two things: the highest riches possible and fame. He will do anything to accomplish this--even if it means causing music to regress even further than it already has. Not only is the music terrible, but the Making the Band show displayed, in explicit detail, just how much talent and musical knowledge these girls lack. Anybody who is so terrible with art (which is what music is supposed to be, after all) should simply not be allowed to have a record deal...much less have their record rated 3 stars by Rolling Stone. This is an insult to centuries of creative development.

This is absolutely horrendous - I actually saw a few episodes of this show and they have all this ridiculous build-up with "Diddy" preaching how they need to be one of the greatest bands of all-time (HA!!!!) & it's the same lackluster, piss poor 80s techno bleeps masquerading as music that Piddly always produces. What is this? How can anyone listen to this tripe and how could RS give it 3 stars? Diddy's pockets are deep & apparently RS is open to payola based on this review.

Danity Kane's self-titled album is far from anything of a superhero. Hero's are strong and they stand out from optimistic reasons. DANITY KANE does not.
For one thing, the album is annoyingly filled with upbeat tracks and their's only about two ballads on the entire thing, which is entirely annoying in every way. What's also not heroic about it is that all of the girls have beautiful voices but they're not demonstrated in none of the songs. It's a complete disappointment.
Although, the upbeat tracks are really magnetic and "ShowStopper" and "Touching my Body" are the best of the best. Just like the cover of the album, the songs are sexy and filled with loads of fun. "Ride for You" also gives DANITY KANE some points.
Danity Kane's self-titled album might be far from being the superhero Dawn said they'll be but it's a nice start. They're lucky they were signed with diddy, huh?
