Collecting out-of-print singles from this emo-identified Nebraska quintet, Houses and Homes documents the energetically messy underground punk sound that Cursive's later albums streamlined and prettied up. Ragged gems such as the dead-on Archers of Loaf rip "Sucker and Dry" suggest that these guys' clatter-and-smash act was worth checking out back when you could have seen them in a basement.
