Four girls and a guy with backgrounds in film, fashion and graphic design, this São Paulo quintet combine synth-driven rave-ups and driving post-punk for Brazilian dance music that would sound at home in London or Manhattan. Their second album is long on exuberance and short on pretension: "Jager Yoga" banks on a catchy shout-along chorus and stabbing electroriffs, and throughout, CSS liven up their art pop with guitar spills and gritty keyboards. Meanwhile, frontwoman Lovefoxxx sing-chants about dancing and drinking, only occasionally delving into a dark cut like "Rat Is Dead (Rage)," which seems to concern domestic violence. Donkey's plenty animated, but it lacks tunes that truly hijack eardrums, which makes it feel like a decent party — fun enough, but soon forgotten.

Mr Hoard no offense but you must have no pep in your step. These cats are not perfect, but who is The wail of these gals is great. And the vocals aren; bad either!

CSS seems to be in "prove themselves mode" now, trying to prove they can play and write serious, adult songs. In the process, they bury everything that made their first album so attractive, specially to British audiences.

When did the B52's move to Brazil? Hey, Mr. Hoard - if you find this album easily forgotten maybe you should get checked out for early-onset Alzheimer's. This set is HOT!
