Courtney Love turned herself in to police in Beverly Hills, California, yesterday and was hit with two felony counts of drug possession.

The charges stem from an October 3rd incident where Love was arrested while trying to break into the Los Angeles home of ex-boyfriend Jim Barber. Hours after Love was released, paramedics were called and she was rushed to the hospital for an apparent drug overdose.

At the time of Love's arrest, police recovered pills that tests revealed to be the painkillers OxyContin and Vicodin. The possession charges could carry a maximum sentence of more than three years in prison. Love might also be eligible for a drug treatment program.

The incident has already cost Love temporary custody of her eleven-year-old daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, who has currently been placed in the care of her grandmother.
