Health Problems Force Cornershop To Miss Gig

Band Back on Track For 25-Date Festival Tour

The pulses of Cornershop fans began to beat a little faster last weekend, when the critically acclaimed British outfit failed to show for an appearance the Quart Festival in Kristiansand, Norway. |

Contrary to blasphemous rumors circulating during and after the mammoth concert, Cornershop is not a band on the rocks. A spokeswoman for the sextet told JAMTV on Thursday that Cornershop was unable to take the stage because of medical problems. Though she would not specify, the spokeswoman said one of the band members was suffering from an illness while another was experiencing back problems.

These temporary inconveniences should not derail any more dates on the group's international festival tour, she said. On the road for more than a year, Cornershop will take little time off before heading back to a London studio this fall, when they will begin work on the follow-up to 1997's When I Was Born for the 7th Time.
