(NEW YORK) - Soldiering on after the death of longtime keyboard
player Rob Collins, the Charlatans
UK rise again with a new album, Tellin Stories,
and U.S. tour. The set, released Tuesday by MCA,
sees these refugees from England's Manchester scene nurturing their
rock roots. Electric guitars, their notes warped with a bit of
distortion, dominate the sound, while a funky drum beat propels the
tracks. The tricksters played Wednesday in Atlanta, and will play
June 20 in Los Angeles, June 21 in San Francisco, June 22 in
Seattle, June 24 in Chicago, and June 25 in New York.
