Cee-Lo and Musiq Team for Tour

Double bill of hip-hop/soul for the summer

Posted May 10, 2002 12:00 AM

Cee-Lo and Musiq will take to the road, starting tonight, on a co-headlining tour in support of their recently released albums, Cee-Lo Green and His Perfect Imperfections and Juslisen. Cee-Lo, a member of the Goodie Mob, described his record as "a race for redemption," following the disappointing release of the hip-hop group's third album, World Party.

The tour will try to capture that redemptive spirit. "It's about jamming and inspiring and empowering and uplifting people with the music," says Cee-Lo, who will be backed by a nine-piece band. "I'm earning my rites of passage, so it's serious for me."

Cee-Lo/Musiq tour dates:

5/10: Chicago, House of Blues
5/11: St. Louis, the Pageant
5/14: Dallas, Gypsy Tea Room
